Thoughts on Thanksgiving/Black Friday '08

well first off i'd like to share my thanksgiving story of how my family started thanksgiving dinner without us,

well first off we went downstairs to play pool and take pictures while we were waiting for dinner to be done,
about an hour later we go upstairs to check if dinner was ready and i see my father putting dishes in the dishwasher,
i start helping him and then my sister says "wait did you guys eat already?", and my dad freaked out and realized that he forgot to call us upstairs to eat ,... so basically we didn't have a thanksgiving dinner:( but its ok because we still ate all the deserts afterwards!

my thoughts on thanksgiving:
i believe that thanksgiving is about being with your family and a day of thinking of what your thankful for. i don't believe that when a family is around the Thanksgiving table , no one is thinking about all the indians that got killed, we are thinking about everything we are thankful for which is ,in my case, family.

my thoughts on black friday:
- i think that it is disgusting how those stampede of shoppers killed a man at the Wall-Mart black friday sale. i disgusts me because its shows that to those families its so important to get their $800 TV or other things. they don't even care if someone dies, they just want their plasma tv. its as if whenever something is on sale, they HAVE to buy it , even if they don't need it, and because of this "random" buy , they killed someone.
-this connects to what someone's theory is : that people find outside sources to make themselves feel better about themselves. i believe that this is true in many ways, i think that alot of people these days will turn to shopping , or their boyfriend, or medication to make them selves feel good about who they are.
-its like every-time they are bored they have to find something to do or watch, i find this way of living a very american way of living!
